Britain's proposed copyright law allows the owner of music to make additional copies for personal use. Compare that the RIAA's statement that such copying, in the U.S. is illegal. What we're missing is a good metaphor so here it is: the digital work protected by copyright is, to me, like a book. You can read it on the bus, on the train or in bed. The RiAA wants you to get a bus copy, a train copy, a bed copy...for each device you use to listen to the music you purchased. It is almost Alice in Wonderland over there.
